In Jodhpur, it is a co-education, day boarding school. It started with classes Nursery through to V in 2006. In 2011 the school was granted C.B.S.E affiliation and started class IX in April 2011, and in 2012, we have been granted affiliation for Classes XI and XII. School education has largely been preoccupied by mental learning and training of the intellect. But true education in the light of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother must have five essential aspects relating to the principal activities of the human being the physical, the vital (emotional nature), the mental, the psychic and the spiritual.

Integral education offers a different paradigm for learning and teaching. It begins with the assumption that the learner is a unique, complex and evolving person and needs an education that accepts his/her uniqueness and complexity. It stems from a holistic understanding of human nature. The Sri Aurobindo Centre of New Education seeks to provide that and much more. The educational precepts of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother serve as the foundation starting from the Nursery. The preschool years are the most formative in a child’s life. Psychologists say that the foundation of a child’s intelligence and other personality traits is laid from birth to six years. Our children will enter a world of love and warmth which will be a painless transition from the security of home to school and the wider world. Some children adjust rapidly, some are slow starters. Our curriculum and activities even for the older children are designed to give each child maximum freedom to choose his own pace and activities which will give him creative expression and thereby self-confidence to meet the world on his own terms.

The physical, mental and emotional aspects of education are sought to be realized through a carefully planned programe. The day starts with 45 minutes of guided sports and physical activities. Creative arts like music, drawing, painting and hand work are an essential part of the curriculum. For the Nursery, special aids, involving exercises relating to everyday life, sensorial training, language work and number work are used to sharpen the child’s power of observation and analysis. Since very young children are at different stages of development especially at the ages of 2-4 they will be grouped together in different sections according to their dates of birth, so that special attention can be devoted to them. Our teachers are introduced to the ideals of education and are trained in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Delhi Branch where already three schools are established; The Mother’s International, Mira Nursery and Mirambika. They also visit Puducherry periodically to attend workshops on Integral Education and Sanskrit.

The school has a large playground, running track, sports and gymnastics equipment and trained instructors for aerobics and yoga. It has science, mathematics, social science, and computer labs, as well as a well-stocked library, audio visual facilities and a resource room for teachers and children.

It is proposed to build an appropriate configuration of classrooms, labs, amphitheater, audio visual room etc. for 1200-1500 children, of whom to 25% will be scholarships.

The campus is on 5 acres of land allotted to us by the Govt. of Rajasthan.

The teacher student ratio is 1:10.
